Direct from the farmers who grow it

No middlemen.
No warehouses.
Just the farm, and you.

Desi Farm Foods brings tamarind, chili powder, and toor dal to Canadian kitchens the way they're meant to arrive — sourced by family, from the farmers who grow them, to your door, at a lower cost than the middlemen-heavy imports on grocery shelves.

Adds taste to your food.

GROWN BY FARMERS WE KNOW SOURCED DIRECT FROM FARM DESI FARM FOODS EST. CANADA

Every batch starts with a phone call, not a purchase order.

Our sourcing runs through family, not a supply chain. A relative on the ground visits the farmers directly — the same tamarind orchards and chili fields that have supplied local households for generations — and buys in small, traceable lots.

That means we can tell you which district your toor dal was grown in, not just which country. It also means we skip the layers of brokers and bulk exporters that most imported staples pass through before they reach a Canadian shelf.

— From our family to yours. We started Desi Farm Foods because we couldn't find tamarind, mirchi powder, or dal here that tasted like what we grew up with. Turns out, the difference was never the recipe — it was how far the ingredients had traveled, and through how many hands.

Questions before you join

The things people usually ask us before signing up.

When do you actually launch?

We're finalizing our first shipment now. Joining the waitlist is the fastest way to know the exact date — we'll email you before anyone else hears about it.

Where in Canada do you ship?

We're starting with a pilot in the Greater Toronto Area, working directly with independent South Asian grocery stores. Wider shipping across Canada is planned as we grow — let us know your location when you join and we'll factor it into where we expand next.

Is there a minimum order?

For household orders, no — buy what you need. Bulk pricing for larger orders is coming soon.

How do you keep quality consistent?

Every lot is inspected for moisture, purity, and grind before it leaves India, and because we buy in small batches direct from farmers, we can trace any batch back to where it was grown.

Do prices change with the exchange rate?

We aim to keep pricing stable and predictable rather than adjusting it with every currency swing — final pricing will be confirmed when we launch.
